Indrajit Srivastava (Assistant Professor)
Indrajit moved from Champaign, IL to Lubbock, TX to start as an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University and fulfill his life-long dream of running his own research lab. In his free time, Indrajit likes watching and playing soccer, and he is an ardent Arsenal football club fan who play in the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

Asma Harun (MechE PhD Candidate)
Asma is an international student from Bangladesh. She did her undergraduate in Bangladesh from University of Dhaka majoring in Physics (2019). She did her M.S. with thesis (2023) at Texas Tech University (TTU) in Physics. Asma started her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering in the Fall of 2023. Asma loves travelling a lot, mountain hiking, trekking, and camping on her vacations. In the Srivastava Lab, Asma will be using modeling and experimental tools work on designing protein-based nanocarriers for image-guided surgery.

Md Hasnat Rashid (MechE PhD Student)
Hasnat, an international student from Bangladesh, completed his Bachelor of Science in Glass & Ceramic Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) in 2023. He will start his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering in Fall 2024, working in the Srivastava Lab. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, playing cricket, table tennis, and watching soccer. Hasnat is a passionate fan of Chelsea Football Club. In the Srivastava Lab, Hasnat will develop SERS nanosensors for exosome detection and diagnostics.

Isabella Vasquez (Chem and Biochem Undergrad & URS Scholar)
Isabella is a native Houstonian and is in her third year at Texas Tech University. Isabella is an honors Biochemistry major, minoring in Forensics Science on a Pre-Pharmacy track. Isabella loves science, but in her free time likes to paint, hike, garden, and play with her dogs. In the Srivastava Lab, as a URS Scholar, Isabella will develop biomimetic lipid nanoparticles and use them for image-guided visualization of pan-ovarian cancers.

Posy Peyton (ChemE Undergrad & URS Scholar)
Posy Peyton was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and is in her second year at Texas Tech University. Posy is majoring in chemical engineering and minoring in psychology, on a pre-pharmaceutical track. Outside of academics, Posy enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, watching sports, and going on adventures with her puppy, Atlas. In the Srivastava Lab, as part of the URS Program, Posy will focus on developing biomimetic lipid nanoparticles designed with organotropism ability, facilitating the delivery of cancer immunotherapeutics.

Eli Bridges (Biology Undergrad & URS Scholar)
Eli is a pre-med student majoring in biology to become an orthopedic surgeon. He was born in Odessa, but has lived in many places, such as New Jersey, New York, California, Grenada, and Amarillo, Texas. Eli likes to participate in many physical activities such as tennis, lifting weights, swimming, and running. Eli has six dogs: four are Australian shepherds, and two are Siberian huskies. In the Srivastava Lab, Eli will develop protein-nanoengineering afterglow nanoprobes for surgical interventions.

Itzel De Leon (MechE Undergrad & URS Scholar)
Itzel was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is a sophomore mechanical engineering major and is also pursuing a minor in aerospace engineering at Texas Tech University. Outside of engineering; Itzel likes to draw, play guitar, hang out with friends, and working out. In the Srivastava Lab, Itzel will be making 3D-printed tumor-mimicking phantoms for aiding fluorescence-guided fluorescence interventions.

Aarti Krishan Khatri (Computer Science Undergrad & URS Scholar)
Aarti is a sophomore honors student at Texas Tech University, majoring in Computer Science with a focus on data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. In Aarti's free time, she enjoys binge-watching series, traveling, swimming, and exploring new places. In the Srivastava Lab, Aarti will be working on developing machine learning models to improve the accuracy and reliability of these nanosensors for real-time diagnostic applications.

Nathaniel was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and has lived in Moosejaw, Canada, Del Rio, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas. He is in his second year here at Texas Tech majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in math and aerospace engineering. Nathaniel loves traveling, hiking, sailing, running ,and working on his 1979 Camaro. In the Srivastava Lab, Nathaniel will be making 3D-printed SERS hydrogels for point-of-care exosome diagnostics.

Kaylee Herrera (Microbio Undergrad & URS Scholar)
Kaylee Herrera is a freshman in the Honors College pursuing a degree in microbiology on the pre-med track. She is from from Cypress, Texas and in her spare time, likes to read, spend time with friends, go to concerts, and play video games. Kaylee has two furry friends back home, her dog named Eevee, whose name was inspired by the Pokémon, and an old grumpy cat named Rocko. In the Srivastava Lab, Kaylee will collaborate with others to develop biomimetic lipid nanoparticles for image-guided visualization of pan-ovarian cancers.

Hunter is a junior at Texas Tech University pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, accompanied with a minor in Mathematics. Hunter Is from Houston, Texas, where he enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, swimming, golfing, and fishing, as well as attending professional sporting events. Elizabeth was born in Chicago and raised in Dallas, Texas. She is starting her second semester at Texas Tech and majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Math on the pre-med track. Outside of school, Elizabeth loves to read, travel, weightlift, game, and cook. In the Srivastava Lab as an independent study student, Elizabeth will develop 3D-printed hydrogels for therapeutic applications.

Ruhananhad Reddy (High School)
Ruhan is a Junior at Lubbock High School, and an aspiring undergraduate biomedical engineering major, interested in attending medical school, to pursue radiology or neurosurgery. His research interests are the applications of nanotechnology and biomedical engineering applications to curing and understanding the progression of diseases. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, lifting weights, and spending time with friends and family. Ruhan also works with disease prevention organizations and local nonprofits, to make an impact on the community. In the Srivastava Lab, Ruhan will be making NIR-II emitting nanoparticles for glioblastoma diagnosis and cytoreductive surgeries.

Hannah Bowman (High School)
Hannah was a Anson L. Clark Scholar in The Srivastava Lab during Summer 2024 and currently participates in our lab meetings remotely. She is from California and attends Stanford Online High School. She is interested in pursuing a bioengineering major in college. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, playing the cello, and working out. She also raises puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind. In the Srivastava Lab, Hannah worked on developing biomimetic lipid nanoparticles with organotropism ability, facilitating the delivery of FDA-approved therapeutics.
